The ‘Baby Boomers Duo’ is coming to Queenscliff’s 360Q on Saturday August 14th. If you love the classic hits from the 1950s, ’60s, ’70s and ’80s then you’ll want to book a ticket for this super-fun tribute show!

Craig Symons (Vocals and percussion) and Scott McCarthy (Guitar and vocals) perform covers of all your favourite tunes, while you enjoy a sumptuous three-course dinner with free flowing sparkling, wine, beer and soft drinks with views over Queenscliff Marina.

CRAIG SYMONS (Vocals & Percussion)

Craig began singing (‘rock around the clock’) in his highchair at the tender age of two according to his Mum!

Some decades later, Craig is still singing (without the highchair) and is a renowned vocalist, percussionist and frontman with the ability to engage any audience, in any situation, with his wacky sense of humour.

A love of vocal harmonies and music from the 50’s to the 80’s has Craig reviving the sounds of classic hits gone by.

SCOTT McCARTHY (Guitar/Vocals)

Scott commenced performing live in the late 1970’s with both original and cover bands all over Melbourne and continues to play guitar and sing as “he won’t grow up!”

After his first purchase of a Beatles album at the age of 12, Scott was hooked on playing and destined to perform ever since.

The humour and the harmonies are always there and constantly reflected in Scott’s performance with The Baby Boomers Duo.

The current lineup came together at the start of 2017 when Craig moved back to Melbourne after living in Colac for 3 years. Craig said he was looking for a permanent partner when Scott offered to fill in while he looked for a replacement.

“After only one rehearsal together we were both amazed at how our voices just complimented each other beautifully, with little or no effort. We both had a love for 50’s, 60’s, 70’s & 80’s music with nice vocal harmonies. Scott decided to stay with me and we have gone from strength to strength, as well as him becoming my best buddy!”.

Craig said it was their own sense of nostalgia that moved them to playing the multiple eras of music they cover.

“They are just classic hits that we love. Everybody knows these songs along with the lyrics. This makes for happy musicians along with a happy crowd who are reminiscing and singing & dancing to songs they remember, and maybe haven’t heard for some time”.

“Folks can expect a great night listening & dancing to classic songs from the era’s I have mentioned. Adding to this, myself & Scott also enjoy the same brand of quick witted humour which tends to manifest itself throughout our show”.

Having toured from Darwin to North Hobart and many places in between, the Baby Boomers duo is not to be missed.

Tickets are $120pp with $20 per ticket donated to Ocean Grove Evening View Club to help disadvantaged kids via The Smith Family.
