Queenscliff's Twin Lighthouses on Shortlands Bluff

The Queenscliff & Point Lonsdale Low Light Festival – 3 May to 30 June

Top and tailed by twin lighthouses, High Light and Low Light, (where the festival gets its name), the picturesque playground that is Queenscliff has a reputation as a long-standing host to bespoke music events, art exhibitions and gourmet dining. Offering the most spectacular and diverse range of venues including circus marquees, grand ballrooms and intimate church spaces.

Queenscliff’s second Low Light Festival brings together local arts, music, literature, history walks, film and culinary talents in a two month long celebration of the senses during May and June.

From Friday 3 May to Sunday 30 June, the Low Light program includes the Bellarine Lighthouse Film Festival screening various movies. Opening night features ‘A Boy Called Sailboat’ with a live soundtrack by the Grigoryan Brothers.

SacredEdge Festival is headlined by Mojo Juju and Lior. Queenscliff Music Festival Concert Series features Dan Sultan, Clare Bowditch and Archie Roach.
The Lighthouse Arts Collective presents ‘Her Sound Her Story’ documentary and intimate Jen Cloher concert.

A miniature outdoor art exhibition by Tinky. Contemporary artist Cam-eron Robbins’ light installation. Work Lux Anemograph. The Blues Train. Sunday Blues Sessions and Whiskey & Gin Masterclasses at the Queenscliff Brewhouse.

The Queenscliffe Literary Festival’s offers writing workshops, meet the author sessions and cartoonists Michael Leunig and Jim Pavlidis in conversation along with a Mirka Mora inspired doll-making class.

Low Light will bathe the streets and shop fronts of Queenscliff and Point Lonsdale blue with lights strung up around the town to guide you as you explore all that the night has to offer.

June will come alive with extravagant Fire and Ice events. Winter Solstice Fire Sculptures will see three art installations burnt simultaneously on the night of 22 June.

A pop-up Winter Wonderland ice-skating rink in the first week of June and a school holiday spectacular at Queenscliff Harbour will round out the month. So this May and June, come and see Queenscliff in a different light.
